2 weeks since one of the most stressful days ever!
It came down to the wire and only managed to get the boat at 2PM, not forgetting of course that if I had not managed to pay for the boat by 5PM I would have lost my deposit, and most likely this lovely boat too!
But, as in all things given time, it was “Alright on the Night” -wouldn’t really want to repeat to be honest. But there it is. In the last 2 weeks I met a young lady, went on a short holiday, moved onto the boat, split up with said young lady and here I sit aboard after cooking a “mix-em-up special” consisting of a small tin of Baked Beans, Tuna, Mushrooms and pasta – not forgetting a little madras powder. I think the single life is probably the right one for me, at least at the moment anyhow!
Work has been tiresome, feeling a little messed around, but that is the life of a contractor – unpredictable at times, not really for those of a feint heart that’s for sure!!
Need a few things for the boat, most important is fitting the old prop instead of the fancy-Dan feathering prop, which is a little worn to put it mildly. Only problem I have is finding the nut that holds it on! Hmmm, I wish I’d figured THAT out before paying £250 for a lift just to be told that as I didnt have the nut, not a lot was possible. Put it down to experience I suppose.
More, hopefully less whiny and more interesting, posts to come!
