The first 2 Weeks

One of the goals I have set myself during my life afloat was to become green, or to have as green a boat as possible. The second solar panel, was connected this morning and I am now the proud receiver of nearly .5 Amps of electricity at 8AM with the sun beaming through wispy cloud. I hope for more at midday through no cloud, but that is in the lap of the weather Gods!
In terms of power I can now choose between Shore Power, Engine powered alternator (by far and away the deliverer of most oomph), wind power (least oomph, but free) and Solar. I’ve completed the re-build of the battery banks which has incorporated a supply re-wire and organisation. All in all, a pretty productive couple of weeks.

On the sailing front, er…we’ll…Erm, there hasn’t been any. Partly shore job, boat job and worried Dogs have led me to play the slightly longer game – after finishing off the solar mounts this morning I will re-start boat clean and polish before hopefully trying the Dogs again on a pootle up the river, which may even involve unfurling the sails for the first time since August! It’s been far too long, I just hope I can remember how to do it! 🙂

That’s all for now, hopefully the next update will see us in a new marina somewhere along the South Coast.

Fair winds all
